Spider-shell
This is a stacked macro made up from 38 individual images. I used a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens attached to the full-frame camera body with a set of 3 Kenko Extension rings which brought the subject to just a couple of inches in front of the lens. The spider-shell was found, discarded, in an old web in the corner of my porch. It is about 1cm cross, nevertheless, with the triple stacked extension rings even at f11 the depth of field was minuscule - hence the need for 38 images! The images were prepared in Adobe Lightroom and then stacked in Photoshop. This image was the result of about five attempts but I am very pleased with the resulting image sharpness. I don't know the species of spider but if anyone can identify it, please advise.
